A try apiece from Tatas Mutataguta, Fortune Chipendo, Jacques Leitao and Ryan Sprake’s three conversions and three penalties ensured the victory in the closely fought tie.

Old Hararians replied through two tries from fullback Tangai Nemadire and Gavin Nyawata and Tich Makwanya’s solitary conversion and three penalties.

The Dragons’ victory, though sweet, was however marred by indiscipline exhibited by Old Hararians players notably national team player Gardner Nechironga who was shown a red card for remonstrating against error prone youthful referee Julian Mundawarara.

From Bulawayo Vitalis Moyo reports that defending Lion Larger Rugby League champions Harare Sports Club dispatched Old Miltonians 65-19 in another league match at Hartsfield Rugby grounds.

“Sportivo” planted 10 tries, six conversions and a penalty kick in their huge victory against the struggling Old Miltonians.

The team coach Sykes Sibanda said the slow start to the game was as a result of fatigue from his players who had travelled the long journey from Harare.

In another match played at the same venue, Western Panthers beat Gweru Sports Club 29-26.
