Chicken Inn (1) . . . 2 Black Mambas. . . 0
By Fortune Mbele
A goal in each half powered Chicken Inn to the third spot on the Castle Lager Premiership log-standings, as they dispatched visiting Black Mambas at Luveve yesterday.
Tendai Ndoro, who has become unstoppable in his killer instinct, volleyed a shot past Mambas goalkeeper Tonderai Mateyaunga off a Thabani Goredema cross 10 minutes into the game to take his goal tally to nine goals, topping the goal scorers’ chart.
The second goal came from a powerful header by right back Moses Jackson from a Kudakwashe Mahachi corner kick in the 59th minute.
Chicken Inn have leapt to the third spot with 23 points from 13 games with their third successive victory following Harare City’s 1-1 draw with FC Platinum at Mandava.
That position awaits the results of today’s matches. It was a disappointing result for the police side after losing another three points to Highlanders in a 1-0 defeat at Barbourfields last week.
Chicken Inn assistant coach Julius Ndlovu had this to say: “We are still working on our lapse in concentration in the last 15 minutes and it looks like it is working.”
