Katulika on Thursday joined Moyo on stage at the National Sports Stadium where different musicians joined the nation in celebrating the inauguration of President Robert Mugabe.

The Young Igwe, as Moyo is affectionately known, announced that the former Mutodi Express manager had come back to his home.

“He is now back to his roots, to the place that nurtured him,” said Moyo, attracting cheers from the crowd.

Shiga Shiga said Utakataka to him was like home and he would always be associated with it since he had worked well with all the band members during his stay at the outfit.

“I am still considering the move but at the moment I am still at Mutodi Express though I have a history with Utakataka. I love Utakataka and it is always in my heart, but at the moment I have a contract with Mutodi,” he said.

Sources close to the deal said Shiga Shiga was holding some talks with Moyo so that he could find his way back to the band.

“There have been talks between Shiga Shiga and the management, though he is likely to play second fiddle to Ramathele who is the current chanter,” said the source.

Though Utakataka Express band manager, Sukulube Dube could not directly confirm the new development, he said Shiga Shiga was free to rejoin the group.

“We once worked with Shiga Shiga and there is nothing wrong with him coming back at Utakataka but as of now, he is still with Mutodi,” said Dube.

Recent reports suggested that Mutodi’s band was on the verge of collapse with the senior band members awaiting clearance from the flamboyant musician so they can join other bands.
