Clemence Matawu grabbed a brace to help Chicken Inn reduce the gap between them and log leaders Dynamos, who take on CAPS United in a fierce Harare derby this afternoon.

Chicken Inn leap-frogged FC Platinum, who are pegged at 33 points, as they have now amassed a total of 34 points to occupy fifth position. Matawu opened the scoring in the sixth minute before veteran striker Gilbert Mushangazhike equalised in the 29th minute.

Matawu completed his brace in the 74th minute.

In Beitbridge, Mukudzei Chingwere reports that Tripple B and Hwange settled for a one-all draw at Dulibadzimu.

Aleck Marime had put the hosts ahead from a penalty spot after Simon Mayengeni was brought down in the penalty box.

Chipangano were made to hold their own until the 74th minute when Eric Chipeta’s long range free-kick salvaged a point for the them.

Tripple B defender Oscar Chove handled the ball, to earn Hwange a freekick. The Warriors defender curled his effort into the net, thereby ensuring Hwange walked away with a single point back to the Colliery.
