The winner of this match will top the other league of the Eastern Region Division Two chapter, while the loser would automatically occupy second position.

The two clubs have dominated the seven-member team league. Before next week’s match, the two sides are tied on 16 points from 11 matches with FC Porto on top owing to a three goal difference.

Group topper from this chapter will then be drawn against second placed team from the other Division Two chapter, with the second placed team set to be drawn against table toppers from the other league. The winners from these matches will then get automatic entry into the world of Division One.

Togara teamed up with his younger brother Pardon Chinungwa, together with friends Trust Mburayayi and Tichaona Magombedzi, to form the now famous football outfit.

The four were forced to come up with this ambitious project after discovering that there was an abundance of talent in Chiredzi which was going untapped.

“We formed the team so that we could promote football here in Chiredzi.

There is a lot of talented youngsters here, but they are failing to reach their full potential because there are no teams locally to help them horn their skills while they are still young.

“We formed FC Porto as a way of giving back to the community, and I am happy with the support the people of Chiredzi have given us to date,” said Togara. Togara also talked of his ambitions to bring premiership football to Chiredzi.

“My dream is to see us qualifying for the topflight league, so as to have competitive football here,” he said.

Togara, who has played in the country’s topflight league for more than six teams, has enough experience, which might come in handy in the development of the game in his home town.
