The track will appear on Ringo’s forthcoming album scheduled for February next year.

Speaking on his arrival in the country on Thursday, Ringo said he was keen to work with Sevenzo.

Ringo, who has collaborated with Superstar Oliver Mtukudzi on his song Intoyami, said he will not be recording any duet with Tuku this time around.

“I would still want to work with Baba Tuku in future but for now I will be doing a song with Kudzai Sevenzo,” said Ringo.

“The song will be on my next album which will be released early next year.”

Sevenzo said she has been good friends with Ringo for a long time and has always had plans to record a duet.

“We have been talking about the duet for a long time and I am very excited that it is now coming to fruition,” she said.

“Ringo is a very good friend and has been my musical mentor for the past few years. It is actually him and Tuku who have always advised me to learn how to play at least one musical instrument.

“I am really looking forward to it as Ringo is one of the best musicians and one of the best vocalists also.”

She said they had been delayed all along by lack of the right song and right time.

The musician, who is still mastering her skills on the acoustic guitar, said with Tuku and Ringo’s influence she managed to perform at the Pakare Paye Arts Centre Solo festival to boost her confidence.

Sevenzo is probably one of the best vocalists to emerge from the country coupled with also being an actress with numerous gongs and nominations like Africa Movie Academy Awards (nomination) and Best Actress Award at the Zambian International Film Festival for her role in local Playing Warriors.

She says she is currently working on a new film that starts shooting next year.
