Speaking on the sidelines of a Media Diversity Campaign workshop on Online Film and Television Distribution held in Harare last Wednesday, the former Studio 263 star said: “Everybody who has made their film want to be the ones distributing it; that will not work. That is where we have complications at the moment among the film practitioners. Film-makers need to focus on their roles to enhance efficiency.”

Chigorimbo added that the country had vast talent, which could be fully exploited if film-makers organised themselves and established a well-coordinated chain of roles to avoid duplication.

He said the country also had opportunities for investment in film infrastructure such as studios.

The one-day workshop was co-sponsored by the embassies of Netherlands, Denmark and Norway, and partnered by Alpha Media Holdings, publishers of The Standard, NewsDay, The Zimbabwe Independent and Southern Eye.
