NEW Orleans are through to the quarter-finals of the NetOne women’s football knock-out tournament after dumping Barrow Jets Queens 3-0 at Barbourfields yesterday.

Three quick first half goals from Yolanda Chuma, Abigal Tawanda and Nomsa Moyo were enough for Orleans to sail through to the next stage of the competition where they will date Black Rhinos.
It was a one-sided affair as Barrows were forced to stay in their half with New Orleans creating several chances until Chuma broke the deadlock 12 minutes into the first half.
Seven minutes later Tawanda headed in a Chuma corner kick to put them two goals ahead of their struggling opponents.
A few minutes before half-time, Moyo made it three after receiving a through pass from Nobukhosi Ncube, who did not finish the match due to a knee injury, making way for Jessica Mathema.
New Orleans head coach Micky Mugadza said he was convinced by his side’s performance and he is confident that his charges will surprise the army side in the next stage.
“I am happy we won the match. The girls played very well and I am sure we can beat any team at any time. Black Rhinos is a very stubborn team they say, but I am sure we will beat them,” Mugadza said.
