The former Harare City man started the match and lasted 80 minutes after he had sealed the mauling with a 75th minute.

He capped a memorable debut with two feeds for fellow new signing Rubin Okotie who grabbed a brace as both the new arrivals immensely contributed to Sonderjyske’s relegation fight.

“Arriving here and getting into the first team is so good. I want to thank Allah because I had a good first match,” said Songani, who somersaulted first before going down into a Muslim prayer position after he had scored.

“I am so happy because it is not easy scoring here. I had a good game but it was tough at the same time. I hope we will finish the season on a better position but there is a lot of hard work that needs to be done.”

However, the emphatic win did not raise Sonderjyske from the foot of the Danish Superliga where they are rooted with 19 points.

Songani’s compatriot Quincy Antipas, who is at giants Brondby, was all praise for the 24-year-old.

“Congratulations to him and he should keep going on. He is showing what he can do. I talked to him a bit after the match. His future depends on what God has in store for him. He should just enjoy playing,” said Antipas.

Songani is part of a generation churned out from Aces Youth Academy which includes Knowledge Musona, Khama Billiat, Lincoln Zvasiya and Brian Amidu.
