The draw, which was successfully held in Mutare recently, was headlined by derbies, a move that is set to reduce transport and other costs.

From the draw 16 teams were thrown into the hat and the results will see Masvingo United facing old enemies Gutu Leopards at Mucheke while Mwenezana hosts ZRP Masvingo in Mwenezi.

Eastern Region pacesetters Mutare City Rovers will take on College Boys, Mutare Polytechnic at Sakubva while Buffalo Junior will lock horns with Tenax at Vhengere.

Last year’s winners Renco Mine will host the league’s new comers Police outfit Black Eagles while FC Three Leaves take on Gaza Gunners in a match dubbed “Battle for Chipinge” at Gaza.

Marondera-based Surrey will take on Eastern Stars while Ruwa clash with Chivhu.

The winner between Mutare City Rovers and Mutare Poly will take on the winner of Buffalo Junior and Tenax in the last eight of the tournament while the winner of Mwenezana and ZRP Masvingo will lock horns with the winner between Masvingo United and Gutu in the quarter finals.

The winner between Ruwa and Chivhu will meet the winner between Eastern Stars and Surrey in the quarter finals.

Eastern Region administrator Tadius Machawire confirmed the development but said they were finalising on the dates and was not at liberty to announce the total sponsorship package of this year’s tournament.

The tournament held annually is bankrolled by Zifa President Cuthbert Dube in rememberence of his wife Sylvia Dube.
