The award recognises outstanding achievement in telecommunications sector. Powertel came out the first runner up to Econet amongst other telecommunications companies like Telecel, Netone and Telone. When contacted for comment Powertel Marketing Manager Mr Prosper Mutswiri underscored the company’s commitment to effective customer service.” Our major thrust is to provide services that answers today’s customer demands. We are committed to procreate products with our customers and ensure effective service delivery to the nation”

Powertel has received positive recognition on its outstanding performance in areas of customer services, top of the mind awareness and customer experience within the telecommunications sector.

The awards were recognised by POTRAZ and Contact centre association of Zimbabwe in conjunction with ZNCC. These awards came at the back of the company’s rebranding exercise which received a positive welcome from the market with the media fraternity positively reporting on it.

The 2014 Potraz telecoms report also saw Powertel scooping the top position on effective customer resolutions. This award recognised the outstanding performance by Powertel in customer resolutions.

The award mainly pointed out Powertel’s speed and efficiency in fibre and internet resolutions especially on business to business customers. This survey was done for all telecommunications companies amongst them Liquid, Africom, ZOL, Telco, Aquiva, Telone and all ISPs amongst others.

POTRAZ is Zimbabwe’s telecommunications regulatory board tasked with ensuring efficient and effective operations of all telecommunications companies in Zimbabwe.

The telecoms giant also scooped the top position in the recently held Service Excellence Awards at Rainbow Towers Harare. The award is fitting tribute to the most innovative company in service delivery both in service performance and in customer experience.

Despite the heated competition against 18 Internet Access providers and Internet services providers in the country, Powertel came top followed by Umax with Telone on the third position.

The award also underlines efforts being made in Zimbabwe to respond to customer demands interms of response through the introduction of 24/7 contact centres. The award is organised by Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe in conjunction with ZNCC and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.

Other telecommunications companies that also won included Econet on top position for contact centre followed by Telecel.
