Veteran coach Sunday Chidzambwa gave the strongest hint of taking over the ZPC Kariba job as he witnessed his former club Dynamos miraculously snatching an away point in yesterday’s 1-all draw at Nyamhunga.

Farai Mupasiri’s headed goal five minutes from full time saved DeMbare the blushes to deny ZPC Kariba maximum points after Tsepo Ranthokoane had thrust the home side ahead in the 34th minute.
Dynamos were simply off colour but somehow managed to grab a point on an afternoon ZPC Kariba totally dominated the contest.
Having lost six points in their last three games, in which they have recorded what appear to be lucky draws, DeMbare still remain on second position but are now a massive six points behind log leaders Chicken Inn who beat Chapungu at Ascot yesterday.
Triangle and How Mine could overtake the defending champions should they win their respective matches this afternoon. Triangle play Tsholotsho FC while How Mine entertain city rivals Highlanders at Barbourfields.
After witnessing ZPC Kariba failing to convert their sublime display into maximum points, Chidzambwa appeared enticed by the club.

Arriving at Nyamhunga exactly one hour 15 minutes before kick off in the company of ZPC chairman Munyaradzi Nduna, Chidzambwa fuelled speculation that he is on his way to ZPC Kariba to take over from sacked Saul Chaminuka.
“It will be good for me to coach a team like ZPC Kariba, but I am just here to watch the match and nothing else. But if offered the job, I will give it some serious thought. Football hasn’t changed much in Zimbabwe. ZPC Kariba dominated and deserved to win but Dynamos however managed to push for a point,” Chidzambwa said.
But it was Dynamos coach David Mandigora who was left under spotlight following a poor display that saw Dynamos for the third time fail to beat ZPC Kariba in a league match.
“A point is better but I am not happy that we have lost six points in the last three games. ZPC Kariba were the better side but credit to the boys for knowing that football is played until the final whistle,” Mandigora said.
Ranthokoane lit up Nyamhunga when he coolly connected an Artwell Nyamihwa cross.
ZPC Kariba continued their dominance after the break but an unmarked Tawanda Nyamandwe failed to convert two clear chances.
Dynamos star man Ronald Chitiyo appeared to have gone into hiding with Walter Mukanga sterile while Godfrey Murwira vanished to leave Raphael Manuvire to steal the show. With eight minutes still to be played, Thomas Magorimbo dispossessed Oscar Machapa but shot too wide.
Dynamos capitalised on their opponents’ wastefulness with Mupasiri punishing ZPC Kariba by heading in an Ocean Mushure corner kick. ZPC Kariba appeared to be headed for their first ever PSL win at their new home Nyamhunga.

ZPC Kariba stand in coach Oliver Mataba was visibly a dejected man at fulltime.
“I am very disappointed. We failed to win despite completely dominating this team. We had very good chances but we failed to convert them into goals,” Mataba said.
He added; “Even the fans saw for themselves that we were by far the better side but in the end we could not win.”
