Antipas joined Hobro last European summer on a one-year contract which he furthered by three years last Wednesday. The 31-year-old is the biggest ever signing in the history of the Danish side.

Hobro were in their debut top-flight league season last term and finished seventh on the 12-team Superliga, with Antipas featuring in 26 games which yielded five goals for him but did not take part in the last six games due to injury.

“I am glad with the situation as this obviously shows the club is keen to keep me. My expectations are mainly to help the team stay up and develop to become a regular club in the top league,” Antipas told Standardsport. Antipas later expressed delight about the extension of his future on Hobro’s official website.

“I am pleased that it has been possible to have extended my contract, so that I can continue to be a part of the club. I’m very happy to be able to contribute with my experience at Hobro IK, a club [that] has huge potential,” said Antipas.

Since arriving in Denmark seven years ago, Hobro is Antipas’ fifth club in the Scandinavian country after also turning out for lower division side Blokhus, HB Koge, giants Brondby and Silas Songani’s current club Sonderjyeske.

The former Motor Action man has also played in Morocco for Moghreb Tetouan and MAS Fez. In announcing the contract extension, Hobro sporting director Jens Sorensen expressed the club’s desire to retain the services of Antipas.

“Quincy Antipas in the first season has already fulfilled the expectations that we had for him. His many and dangerous moves make him a pain to any defence and it is essential for us to have such a pro-active and skillful threat in the front chain,” said Sorensen.

Antipas was recently overlooked by Warriors coach for national duty in an Afcon qualifier against Malawi. He will be joined at Hobro by former CAPS United left-back Ronald Pfumbidzai and unknown teenage midfielder Tanaka Chinyahara.

Meanwhile, the duo of Wisdom Mutasa and Walter Musona began training with Slovakian top-flight league side FK Senica on Thursday.

They will be auditioned at the club for the next three weeks.

“The level of football here is high. There is more pace in their play and they are aggressive. I leave everything to God and he knows my destiny which he has already planned for me. I hope I will make it,” said Mutasa. The FK Senica trials could finally be a breakthrough for Musona who has had trial spells in Tunisia with former African champions Esperance as well as twice at South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns, but with no success.
