The 2012 Zimbabwe Sportsperson of the Year Award winner has so far amassed a total of $1 464 467 after taking part in 28 events in which in essence he participated in 20 of them. He missed the cut in eight of the tournaments and came out with nothing in the process.

Last season De Jonge made a total of $1 171 395 throughout the US PGA tour but could go above that figure. There are still four tournaments to be contested for in the 2014/15 season which runs until October 8 with the staging of the President’s Cup.

De Jonge, however, is way down the ladder of the top money earners’ list for the season so far, sitting in 62nd position, just above Keegan Bradley who is on $1 441 947, and a rung below Pat Perez who has accumulated $1 507 401.

The Zimbabwean has had a topsy-turvy season in which he has finished second once and was a top 10 finisher on three occasions. He has had the honour of finishing in the top 25 on eight occasions.

His biggest pay cheque came from the McGladrey Classic where he finished second, picking up a cool $492 800. This was followed by the fifth place finish at the Shell Houston where he pocketed $231 825.

Not to be outdone was the 13th position at the CIMB which gave him $123 666. The latest developments have taken his career earnings to $10 839 530.

Jordan Spieth leads the season’s tour money list with $10 399 715 in the bag after taking part in 22 events. Spieth missed out on an opportunity to extend his tour money lead after missing the cut at last weekend’s The Barclays.

Jason Day is way behind Spieth on $7 551 205 after 17 events and is followed by Bubba Watson who is on $6 313 185 after taking part in 16 competitions. World number one Rory Mcllroy is way down in eighth position with $4 292 849 after taking part in only nine events on the US PGA Tour.

De Jonge has dropped significantly on the world rankings and is now over the top 100 mark. He is way down the perking order in 125th position having at one time reached a career best of 58th in the world standings.

The latest rating follows his dramatic loss of form which has seen him finish out of the top 50 in his last five events, including missing the cut in two of the competitions, the John Deere Classic and the Wyndham Championships.

This was also after a not all that impressive 56th position at the PGA Championship, a 59th place at the Quicken Loan National and a 76th placing at the RBC Canadian Open.

Only last week De Jonge was a big disappointment at the Barclays where he finished 79th and received nothing for the poor effort.

De Jonge has to move back into the top 100 in order to avoid being relegated to the qualifying rounds for major tournaments next season. He is at the moment taking part in the Deutsche Bank Championship in Germany.

Rory Mcllroy leads the world standings followed by Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Bubba Watson with Justin Rose completing the top five.
