With all four musicians riding the crest of a wave in their music careers, gospel music followers and the Christian community are guaranteed a potentially explosive Taking Gospel to Another Level concert.

In interviews with The Standard Style, the four musicians promised top-notch performances at the concert.

Award-winning Mhere said they realised that there were few gospel shows being organised by music promoters so they decided to join hands and treat their starved fans under one roof.

“We are glad that through our music, we are evangelising as the word of God says go out, therefore and make disciples. We are urging our fans and the Christian community to come in their numbers to the concert,” Mhere said.

“My mission is to make sure that the message carried in our songs touches souls and strengthens people faced with life challenges. We have to win souls to God through music and that is our calling.”

The musician is currently riding high with his latest 10-track studio album, Double Double, which is fast penetrating the market.

“We are happy with the response and support we are getting from our fans, which is overwhelming. We are not going to shift from our focus and mission to take the album, which carries deep worship messages, to our multitudes of fans countrywide to ensure that it reaches them,” Mhere said.

Worship Addict group leader, popularly known as “Minister Zamar” in music circles, said the concert was a special epoch in their careers.

“Taking Gospel to Another Level concert is a special show in our careers with my friends as we decided to join hands for the sake of our fans, while at the same time showing the world that as gospel musicians, we are not competitors but we complement each other in doing God’s work,” Zamar said.

Since the release of his first album in 2011, Zamar — bred in Beitbridge — has become a force to reckon with on the gospel genre with popular songs, among them Sorry, Kuregerera in Advance, Agere Pachigaro, Kuzobalungela, Umoya Wami, Prayer for Zimbabwe, Ibhaibhili Ke?, Unotapirirwa, Taura Neni and Mtwene.

On the other side, Magacha and Thembelani have, during their shows, proved to be no push overs, but serious contenders in gospel music.
