(0) 0 HOW MINE handed Triangle their first defeat of the season in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match that the Lowveld side could easily have won had they not wasted the numerous chances that came their way at Luveve Stadium yesterday.

Substitute Godfrey Nguwodzawo came to the end of a Charles Sibanda cross in the 75th minute to connect the ball past Triangle goalkeeper Tapiwa Chilenga.
Three minutes later, Kudakwashe Musharu’s slick header from another set-piece by Tsepo Ranthokoane killed the game for the gold miners, who have gone four matches without defeat.
The win lifted How Mine to position two on the log-table, with eight points, but coach Kelvin Kaindu was not a happy man after beating his former employer as his side were unconvincing for long periods in the match.
“It was a tough one. We thank God we managed to come up with maximum points, but I am disappointed with the way we played, especially in the first half. We struggled, but we managed to get a win. There is a lot of work that needs to be done. They [Triangle]could have beaten us in the first half but we stabilised after making those changes,” Kaindu said.
Triangle coach David Mandigora was also disappointed to have lost a game in which his boys had the upper hand.
“This is our first defeat and I am very disappointed, but the boys tried their best. We created numerous chances, but we could not convert them. It was just not our day. I think it was lapse of concentration. We just have to keep on pushing,” Mandigora said.
