The festival, which seeks to provide a platform for people from different backgrounds to come together to experience the presence of God, will feature prominent worshipers, among them pastor Haisa, Takesure Zamar Ncube, Michael Mahendere and Pastor G, who will share the stage for the first time in their music careers.

In an interview with The Standard Style, the festival spokesperson Tendai Arumando said preparations for the concert to be held under the theme Open Heavens were gathering momentum.

“We have covered much ground work in terms of our preparations and I am happy to say that most musicians taking part at the festival are eagerly awaiting the event,” Arumando said.

“We have already started selling advance tickets which are going for $10 while at the gate tickets will be sold for $15. Advance tickets are sold at Jan Jam shops corner First and Nelson Mandela Street and First and George Silundika Street in the capital, Innov Book Shops and Avondale Book Shop.”

Arumando said the non-denominational festival was aimed at re-introducing and promoting an undiluted culture of real worship in Zimbabwe, ministering to souls and bringing spiritual and physical healing through worship.

“The festival is not about making a show to gospel lovers, but it is aimed at ushering people into the presence of God through music and worship,” he said.

“We might be separated by our denominations and where we come from, but this festival seeks to unite Zimbabweans to embrace worship as it is a sure getaway from many problems as it brings the very presence of God to humanity.”

In interviews, some of the musicians who are billed to perform said they were geared for the concert.

Mahendere said he was happy to be part of the festival, saying it was his passion to support the work of God and urged people to come in their numbers to the event.

“The Christian community must come in their numbers for the worship nights,” he said. “We will stage our performance on the last day of the festival with my Direct Worship Group and we will sample some of our latest songs from our forthcoming album Getting Personal with God 3.”

Pastor G said; “Worship is not in the song or its presentation, but it starts with your lifestyle, so we are giving as sacrifices of worship. I urge my brothers and sisters in the Lord to come and worship with us; this is not a concert or a show but a worship experience that will usher healings to the body and soul.”

The festival will also feature Zimpraise member Ellard Cherayi, Pastor Josh Kays and Chido Mutambira.
