The awards ceremony will be held on October 21 at die Kammerspiele at Landestheater.

The Stella awards celebrate outstanding artists and organisations that champion cultural change. They were named after one of Australia’s iconic female authors, Stella Maria Sarah “Miles” Franklin.

Dube was nominated for the best music composition in the theatre production category, for the music he composed for Iyasa’s recent international theatre production My Farm House.

A representative of Stella awards and Assitej Austria, Norbert Bayer confirmed the development, saying the jury nominated Dube for Stella16 awards in the outstanding music category.

Dube expressed happiness over the nomination.

“I have been nominated for an award in Austria. These awards are equivalent to the National Arts Merit Awards in Zimbabwe,” he said.

“I have been nominated for the best music composition in theatre production, for the music I composed for Iyasa for a recent international theatre production, My Farm House. The production was written by Austrian director Stephan Rabl and premiered in Vienna, Austria in March.”
