Tanza Centre is one of the new players in the liquor market that have come up with attractive packages to survive in the dog-eat-dog entertainment business.

The joint kicked off its pre-festive season entertainment menu with a challenge pool match which featured former world junior champion Sandile Madlala. The pool challenge started on Thursday and ends tonight. Proceeds from the match go towards charity.

Today, Romeo Gasa and his Extra Valembe take their latest offering Bhoo Zvekuti to Tanza Centre where they will perform at a family show. The show, which is free of charge, is meant to promote Gasa’s nine-track album which was launched in Harare last month.

Extra Valembe manager Bornface “Chief” Chisvine said the Tanza Centre gig was part of a series of shows the group was embarking on to promote the new album.

“We have lined up a number of shows where we are promoting our new album Bhoo Zvekuti. These shows are free of charge, but we expect fans to buy our original CDs, which will be on sale on the day,” said Chisvine.

He said fans should look forward to songs like Varume Munoshusha, Nhamo Haina Zera, Kugona Ndekwenyu, Chihuta Changu, Rudo Vaviri, Zano and Anyumwa Bere Nderake, which have proved popular wherever the young sungura crooner performs.

Tanza Centre manager Richard Chibvongodze confirmed Gasa’s show, saying the joint has a star-studded line up of entertainers performing this month.

“Yes, we have Romeo Gasa coming in on Sunday [today] for a family show. We also have another family show next Sunday, where we are hosting Zaka Zaka for yet another free show before the mother of all shows when we host Alick Macheso on October 22,” said Chibvongodze.

He said Barura music star Tendai Dembo would also perform at the joint during the last weekend of October.

“We are engaging Tendai Dembo so that he performs on the last Sunday of the month. We have planned a number of shows in November where we will invite top music groups and Oliver Mtukudzi is coming here in December,” he said.
