FC PLATINUM’S perfect start to the season continued after dispatching a battling Bantu Rovers in an entertaining league duel at Maglas Stadium yesterday.

Rodwell Chinyengetere’s brace and Charles Sibanda’s strike outweighed Newman Sianchali and Bhukosi Sibanda’s strikes to give the platinum miners maximum points.
The miners came into the duel with a spring in their feet following their win against Dynamos in Harare last week.
Meanwhile, the visitors lost their opening encounter and they have now suffered two defeats on the trot while conceding eight goals.
FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza was happy with maximum points, but conceded that his side still had a lot of work to do.
“We came into the match looking for a positive result and we got it, but there are a lot of things we need to work on. I am not happy with the defence,” he said.

“We need to keep the momentum going, it is still a long marathon and we cannot talk about what we want at the end of the season,” said Mapeza.
Losing gaffer Methembe Ndlovu was happy with his side’s performance despite yet another defeat.
“Congratulations to the wining team, they have a good team and we have to put our hats off for them,” he said.
“Our guys are coming together as a team. So far it has been a difficult period. The lack of clarity in the technical department is affecting our team.”
The miners quickly settled into the duel, with Sibanda brilliantly controlled a Nqobizitha Masuku pass before firing home the opener after four minutes of action.
Moments later Chinyengetere was on hand to complete a beautiful team effort doubling the hosts’ advantage.
Sianchali volleyed home for the visitors to cut the deficit, giving them hope of a comeback.
The miners were awarded a spotkick after an hour of action and veteran Chinyengetere stepped up to complete his brace, restoring the hosts’ two goal advantage.
Moments later the visitors were also awarded a spot kick when Petros Mhari fouled Obrey Chirinda inside the box. Sibanda then stepped up to the deficit to one goal for the second time in the match.
