The home side felt hard done by referee Ruzive Ruzive when he waved play on after FC Platinum midfielder Rodwell Chinyengetere had clearly handled inside the box in the second half and Chidzambwa was not amused.

“Last week it was very poor and today it was very poor again. Normally, I don’t comment about referees but it looks like it’s getting poorer and poorer. They need to do something about the deteriorating standards,” Chidzambwa fumed.

In a game that took time for both teams to settle as they sized each other for the better part of the first half, ZPC Kariba could have scored in the 7th minute but Raphael Manuvire’s header was saved by impressive FC Platinum keeper Petros Mhari.

ZPC Kariba could have taken the lead in the 25th minute but Never Tigere’s stinger just outside the goal area was parried back into play by the outstanding Mhari.

FC Platinum had a good chance to surge forward in the 12th minute when their best player on the field Talent Chawapihwa’s shot was blocked by ZPC Kariba keeper Tendai Hove.

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza (pictured) said he was happy with an away point.

“At the end of the day, I’m happy with the point. Maybe, with a bit of lucky we could have walked away with a win, especially in the last few minutes,” said Mapeza

Meanwhile, at Dulivadzimu Stadium in Beitbridge, former champions Chicken Inn shot to the top of the log after a hard-fought victory over a battling Tsholotsho yesterday.

Christopher Samakwere’s 16th minute goal from a low shot which sneaked through a cluster of players to beat Tsholotsho goalkeeper Mariyon Chang proved to be the difference between the two teams.

The win temporarily takes Chicken Inn to the top of the log on 27 points, a point ahead of Ngezi Platinum and Black Rhinos who are both in action today.
