With two albums — Munogona Jesu and Wakanaka Jesu — under his belt, Majongwe will be unleashing his third album titled Ndiri Mukundi before the end of the year, a project that he did with gospel outfit Spirit of Worship.

Majongwe’s music career was shaped and groomed in the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) church where he served in the choir as the music director.

“After I gave my life to Christ in the AFM Stone Assembly Zvishavane, thus when I joined the praise and worship team as a backing vocalist under the leadership of Elder David Mutsvedu. In 2003, I moved to Kariba where I was appointed the music director at Bethel Assembly AFM,” he said.

“Since music was a calling from my childhood, I managed to record two albums Munogona Jesu and Wakanaka Jesu,” he said.

However, the gospel artist, now based in Harare, said the music industry was not a stroll in the park.

“Mostly when it is the first album, it’s hard for you to penetrate the industry as far as music is concerned. In 2011, I managed to record my first album with the help of Bishop Oliver Chipunza and Prophetes Makanyara Chipunza who supported me throughout,” he said.

Majongwe said he was inspired by Pastor Josh, Gospel Power and Elder Marko Chiwaridzo.

He described the upcoming album as an emotional piece related to what he went through in his life. He believes the message will be transformational to many believers.

“God has allowed me to go through a lot for the past three years and he has trained me to be humble despite what he has called me for. So, it’s an album of saying yes to the will of God and saying no to the plans of the devil.”
