VISITING ZPC Kariba wasted three glaring chances as they dropped crucial points against relegation-threatened Tsholotsho FC in a drab Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Dulivhadzimo Stadium yesterday.

The duo of Tawanda Munyanduri and Tawanda Nyamandwe both hit the upright in the 75 and 78th minute respectively, while Professor Wadyajena wasted another glorious chance after shooting wide, with Tsholotsho goalkeeper Chang Mariyoni a beaten man.

Tsholotsho in turn could have picked up the three much-needed points if Lucky Vundla’s 35 minute strike had found the target.

Tsholotsho coach, Darlington Dodo blamed his team’s poor show to lack of training after his charges missed training last week in protest over unpaid salaries. “We lacked that sharpness because we did not train the whole week and we arrived in Beitbridge in the morning, so what can you do with such a team? I had no plan,” he said, referring other questions to management.

“I cannot speak about the salaries but the players are demotivated.”

ZPC Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa admitted that they had missed a good chance to collect three points on the road. “We should have buried them in the second half but we missed the target, which is disappointing because we created the opportunities and should have collected all three points,” he said.

Chidzambwa also complained about the poor condition of the dressing rooms.

“Why can’t the responsible authorities take care of this? The dressing rooms are filthy and that is unacceptable at this level,” he said. BY OWN CORRESPONDENT
