Makanyanya is Mallone’s third album, having produced his debut in 2016 titled Makanaka Jesu, which has seven tracks and the following year an extended play titled Mafaro with four tracks: Vhurai Meso, Mafaro, Tunomushumira and Ngatitsvage Mwari.

“My biggest testimony of what God has done in my life, is that I’m living my dream. He made my dream of being a successful gospel musician come to reality and I will forever thank Him for that and not forgetting thanking Him for the gift of life and being able to take care of my family,” he said.

Marume said his latest project, which features Lucky Ndlovu, who is popular as MahBrown, from Bigyaadz Studios is “a bomb”, as its message talks of God’s victories, citing some of the popular miracles in the Bible.

“It was produced by the one and only, Rodney Maraka aka Trinnie Beatz at Bigyaadz Music. It’s titled Makanyanya, referring to how our Lord is miraculous, powerful, amazing and beautiful. The song talks about how Jesus changed water into wine at a wedding at Cana like a beverage company, how God destroyed Goliath through David and how He destroyed the war of Pharaoh through Moses.

Above all, the song talks about how God takes care of us without us paying any cent or taxes. It’s a danceable song and it can be used at weddings, parties, graduation ceremonies or any other happy events or when celebrating something,” he said.

The sense of purpose and unity between the producer Trinnie Beatz and his brother Jay C, in which the trio blended well with their different voices, is the secret behind the “great sound in the vocals” that is amazing to the ears of listeners, said Mallone.

The highlights of his fledging career was when he was part of a song featuring some big names in the local gospel sector such as Minister Michael Mahendere, worshipper Larry Gunda of Gospel Power, Bishop Leonard Zhakata, Psalmist Hubert Chigumira, the late Joyce Simeti, Tinashe Magacha and Noel Zembe, among others.

“I was the youngest guy and it was so amazing working with these guys on the Judgement Night 4 Project, which was used for advertising the event by the United Family International Church (Ufic). The other one was when I shared the stage with all the artists I mentioned above including the Charambas, Ufic choir artists in August 2016 at an event hosted by my father, Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa in Mt Hampden,” he said.

Mallone is a fan of Minister Mahendere, Frank Edwards, Gil Joe, Gospel Power, Lecrae, Michael Smith, Joyous Celebration, Kuda Mutsvene, Hillsong and Magacha.

He said he was taking lessons in music production, as music was his main focus right now.

It’s hard to balance the two, but in life if you need something to be done you need to work hard and sacrifice every second you got because time and opportunity only come once in a lifetime, so I’m doing it,” he said.

Mallone was born in Harare in 1998 and is the first born in a family of two children. He lives with his parents and his little sister.

“I was in the school choir at Chiware Primary School in Rusape. In 2012, I left Rusape and came to Harare and there was no choir to join and from that moment I discovered that I had the ability to go solo,” he said.

“At first, it was hard because I had no idea how to compose a song, but with time, I learned and asked if there were any recording studios around, and found First Class Records.

“I talked with the producer from that studio and he agreed to give me a shot. I did my first project titled Tumirai Chiyedza. “Simon, the producer, was being patient with me, guiding me with his experience in the business and the project was a success.”

Mallone said he was shocked that the song Tumirai Chiyedza did fairly well on the market, even beyond his expectations — a feat which inspired him to do more projects.
