REIGNING Miss Zimbabwe Global Supermodel 2017, Tumelo Juliana Nare says her desire is to be an inspirational role model in the society.

It is for that purpose that she recently participated at the Zimbabwe Global Supermodel pageant which promotes cancer awareness.

The 20-year-old model shrugged off competition and was crowned Miss Zimbabwe Global Supermodel 2017. She is now set to represent the country at Global Supermodel set for next year in Zambia.

Nare told The Standard Style that while she followed the traits of other super models who have been in the industry for long, as well as some influential members of society, she also wanted to be an inspiration to others.

“I am a human being who can make mistakes, but as a rising model, what I want is for my behaviour to be emulated by others, especially by younger people for inspiration,” she said.

“I want to work with many reputable brands and reach a point where my achievements are basically someone’s goals, to serve as an inspiration to others.”

Nare said while some people had a negative attitude towards modelling, she would soldier on until she made her name in the industry.

“Sometimes as models, we experience constant criticism and rejection in the lenses of a society that does not accept modelling as a profession. However, despite that negativity, I will soldier on to make my name in this industry,” she said.

The rising model has participated at several pageants, including Miss Cultural Zimbabwe 2014, Miss Schools 2015 (where she was the Miss Personality) and Miss ZimGold 2016 (in which she was the first princess).
