Veteran striker Kudakwashe Musharu’s easy tap in the 34th minute from a cross by Moses Muchenje gave Harare City a deserved lead before William Manondo coolly finished a perfect cross by substitute Denzel Chimwemwe in the 72nd minute.

Mark Harrison was a happy man after the final whistle as Harare City picked up their second win of the season.

“We played well today, passed the ball well; movement was good, we opened them up. We could have scored four or five goals. We have to learn to kill off teams I think. We dominated the first half and in the second half they had a little go at us for about 10 to 15 minutes when we sort of lost our shape a little bit, then we came back on top again,” he said.

“It’s three points and it takes us another step forward to safety, that is all that is in our minds. we are trying to improve from week to week. We don’t need to get carried away. I am happy we got to get the chance of displaying our football.”

Bulawayo Chiefs coach Garthly Chipuka admitted Harare City were the better team of the day as he lamented the absence of his key players Tatenda Chikwende and Farawo Matare.

Meanwhile, in another Premiership encounter Lameck Nhamo converted from the spot to hand visiting Triangle a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Yadah FC at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.

Former CAPS United forward Phineas Bhamusi had given Triangle the lead in the fifth minute before Leeroy Mavhunga equalised for Yadah after converting a penalty in the 63rd minute.
