The birthday bash, which is set to start at 2pm, is an ideal family outing for Sulu’s fans as the popular Dendera musician performs for the first time in the country after his recent visit to the United Kingdom.

The musician told The Standard Style on Thursday that he was not privy to what was in store for him at his birthday celebrations since it was organised by Sherwood Bar director Hopewell Chifamba and his band members — Orchestra Dendera Kings.

“All I know is that it’s our first family show since our successful tour of the UK, that is what the band manager told me. The rest is in the hands of Mr Chifamba and the band,” he said.

“This will be my first time at the ‘new-look’ club which is also in my neighbourhood and I hope to do more shows there in future.”

He said it was going to be a family show and urged fans to come in numbers with their loved ones.

Carlton Muparutsa, Sulu’s manager, said: “We are holding a family show that will start at 2pm and end around 9 pm to enable our fans to see Sulu live on stage with their loved ones.”

Sherwood Bar, which is housed at Sherwood Golf Club, is increasingly turning out to be an entertainment hub in Harare, thanks to the spacious open space and its upmarket appeal.

Chifamba said he was supporting the band in its bid to hold an excellent show for the fans.
