Arthur Musiyiwa notched a brace in the 47th and 68th minutes from the spot after Malvin Mkolo and Stanley Ngala had been brought down inside the box respectively.

Referee Hardly Ndazi pointed to the spot once again in the 80th minute after Bulawayo City defender Tatenda Tavengwa was adjudged to have handled inside the box and up stepped Ngala to convert the third spot-kick.

Bulawayo City had scored first in the 34th minute through Sipho Ndlovu, whose effort deflected off his captain Zibusiso Sibanda to beat Chiefs goalkeeper Winston Chiwetu.

But the City Fathers’ celebration was shortlived as Chiefs equalised two minutes later through a well-taken shot by striker Perfect Chikwende.

The fifth win by Chiefs took them to 22 points from 20 games and coach Gatrhly Chipuka was ecstatic.

“This was the result coming from the works our new striker [Ngala] who came in and was very industrious and I am happy with the result,” Chipuka said.

His opposite Amini Soma-Phiri, however, felt the referee was not fair in awarding some of the penalties.

The defeat further puts City in a precarious position on the log table with a paltry 15 points from 20 matches.

“It’s terrible. I don’t know how I can explain it, but everybody saw it. The referee can be an extra arm in a game of football, but I don’t want to say much,” Soma-Phiri said.

Meanwhile, in another match defender David Boriwondo was the hero for Nichrut when he scored a last-gasp goal to give his side a 1-0 win over Shabanie Mine in an exciting battle of strugglers at Ascot Stadium yesterday.

Boriwondo headed a cross from the impressive Carlos Rusere deep into stoppage time to deflate the Shabanie defence, which had stood resolute for the better part of the match.
