Born Braveman Chizvino, Baba Harare, the former lead guitarist at Third Generation Band fronted by Jah Prayzah, is currently dominating airwaves with his plug track The Reason Why, commonly referred to as Heti Dzemurara by his growing legions of fans.

On Wednesday, Baba Harare told The Standard Style that he had special memories of Club Mandisa.

“When I left Jah Prayzah to do my own thing, Club Mandisa became my adopted home. That is where l grew up musically. The management and fans there welcomed me so much and I have a special attachment to that place,” he said.

“I am happy to be recognised and appreciated by the fans. I am humbled to share experiences with the other artistes there in Mutare on the Monday Night Jam Sessions and I am looking forward to a happy outing.”

The Monday Jam Sessions give a platform for groups in Mutare and Manicaland to showcase their music.

Club Mandisa director Bonface Nyamanhindi said the popular joint was promoting musicians in Mutare and Manicaland province by giving them the exposure.

“This show is special because we have managed to bring the man of the moment Baba Harare. He is currently the best musician and it will be a privilege for the people of Mutare to come and watch the man in action,” said Nyamanhindi.

He said he had noted with concern how equally talented musicians in Mutare had been failing to get exposure.

“Mutare and Manicaland have abundant musical talent, but unfortunately that talent is not being nurtured. Club Manidisa has taken it upon itself to nurture and develop that talent,” he said.

“We will be hosting the Monday Night Jam Sessions with the aim of developing and at the same time promoting the artistes in Mutare.

“As a promoter, it is also my wish to see local music’s popularity growing and maintaining its dominance in the entertainment sector.”
