This follows his impressive maiden season on the developmental Challenge Tour. The talented golfer, who currently competes under the United States flag, was one of the top 15 players on the European Challenge Tour money list who earned playing rights for the 2019 season.

After initially participating in European Tour events on sponsors’ invitations since turning professional, Crocker joined the European Challenge Tour in June in a bid to play full-time on the main tour.

The move paid off last week as the 22-year-old finished 11th on the money list with €115 074 (approximately US$130 000) in earnings from 11 events on Europe’s junior circuit.

The Harare-born Los Angeles-bred golfer posted five top-five finishes, including third place finishes at the Euram Bank Open, Hainan Open and Foshan Open.

Crocker, a University of Southern California graduate, signed off his European Challenge Tour season by finishing fifth in the Ras Al Khaimah Challenge Tour Grand Final last Saturday.

Although next year will be the first time Crocker will be playing full-time on the European Tour, he is no stranger to international competition.

Born in Zimbabwe to cricketer Gary Crocker — a sporting star who shone as a member of the Zimbabwe national cricket team — the naturalised American, who moved to the Us at the age of six, has seen nearly every corner of the globe.

In his short professional career, Crocker has played in 13 European Tour events on four different continents. He has amassed £157 740 earnings in eight starts this season, highlighted by a pair of top 10 finishes at the ISPS Handa World Super 6 Perth and the Australian PGA Championship.

In January, he qualified for the 147th Open Championship at Carnoustie Golf Links via his tied sixth place finish at the Singapore Open on the Asian Tour. He went on to finish in a tie for 47th.
