While Sungura has many players, it is the honour to share the stage with such legends like Macheso that many, if not all-rising artistes cherish.

In separate interviews with The Standard Style, Moyo and Baba Harare, who are no pushovers in their careers, said they were greatful to be sharing the stage with the Madhawu hit maker promising their best at the concert.

“This is a show not to be missed. It has been a while since we shared the stage with my father [Macheso] and I hope people will come in their numbers and witness the best of sungura stage performances,” Moyo said.

“I am still in the game because I learn a lot from my father [Macheso] since he is the face of sungura and on the other hand Baba Harare is also doing well, so it will be entertainment galore on the day.”

While Young Igwe has been under fire from critics, who argue that he is far from reaching his father’s level that charmed the nation with hits like Muchina Muhombe and Samanyemba, he has, however, worked hard to maintain the Utakataka Express identity.

On the other hand, Baba Harare — born Braveman Chizvino Mawanza — is enjoying a purple patch in his career boosted by his song The Reason Why, which has popularly become known as Hat Dzemurara.

The song with the Jiti beat is indeed making waves such that the singer is also happy that the song has pushed his name to a wider audience as it is being played at different platforms.

“I have always been working hard and will always work hard. I thank the faithful fans who have been with us since day one. Their support means a lot and the feedback is amazing,” he said.

“Above all, I thank the Almighty for the drive and motivation. There is no easy walk to the top, but with God nothing is impossible. This song [The Reason Why] has opened floodgates for me.”

The talented guitarist and vocalist said his career had taken a positive curve evidenced by the number of views of his music videos on YouTube and the improved figures at his shows.

Baba Harare has two albums to his name. The debut is Chikwama Changu, which marked his solo career. However, it is the second album, Minamato yaRasta, that appears to have given him his breakthrough with songs like The Reason Why, Banana and Usasiya Zvinonaka (Guzuzu) receiving fair airplay.

Knowing what it means sharing the stage with the seasoned Macheso, there is no doubt that the youthful energetic performers Baba Harare backed by his City Vibration Band and Young Igwe supported by his Utakataka Express, will be at their best to give the fans value of their money.
