Local gospel musician Farai Makandanje, aka Social Doctor, says he is putting final touches to a video that he plans to release on Good Friday next month.
Titled Jesu Warovererwa, a track on which Social Doctor collaborated with Pst Nezek and Tonderai Chimhanda off his album Munoshamisa, it is themed around Easter.
“I will be releasing the video for Jesu Warovererwa on Good Friday as a way of celebrating the death of Jesus Christ our Lord, which brought our salvation,” Social Doctor said.
“The video will also be released at the same time as the video of the song Ndinotenda, which features Kudzi Nyakudya and Bethen Pasinawako-Ngolomi.”
The businessman-cum-musician is currently in the studio working on a new album.
“Work on the album for 2019 has begun. The forthcoming album, which will be released in June, is titled Kufanana NaJesu and carries eight tracks,” he said.
“So far, I have recorded two songs and I am doing the production at Lyton Studios, Kukbeats, T&C Records and Oskid Productions.”

As part of his projects this year, the gospel crooner would engage gospel sensation Blessing Shumba for a duet.
“I am working on a fifth collaboration project that will feature Blessing Shumba,” he said.
“If the doors are open, I would love to do a collaboration with a foreign artiste, especially Tim Godfrey or Jimmy The Psalmist.”
Social Doctor made his entrance into the mainstream music industry with a single titled Buruka Uone in May last year before releasing an eight-track album titled Munoshamisa five months later.
