Local entertainment hub Jive Zimbabwe has another “disruptive” innovation up its sleeve as it launches a new signature dish called #HamaYomukadzi, metaphorically meaning “a five-star treatment”, at its Padziva Leisure Centre in Harare on Africa Day.

Padziva is an outdoor entertainment and leisure centre, with a cocktail of amenities like braai, kids’ play area, car wash and a big screen, located on the western part of Harare along Kirkman Road.

It is one of the transformed de facto al fresco entertainment joints trending in the city that have taken over from traditional beer outlets.

Famed for its monthly #OneBigParty — a family event that is held on the last Saturday of every month, bringing artistes, businesspeople and entrepreneurs together — and #BoyzCanCook — a movement of men and women, particularly men who proactively join the ongoing gender activism, dismissing the notion that women belong to the “kitchen” — Padziva, according to Jive Zimbabwe director Benjamin Nyandoro, will introduce another unique concept #HamaYomukadzi on Africa Day.

“This is another disruptive concept from Jive Zimbabwe, which we will introduce on Africa Day and it will be our signature dish. We call it #HamaYomukadzi, meaning a ‘spoiler’,” said Nyandoro.

He said the joint, which recently had some touch-ups to its facilities and services to give it a modern appeal, was trending with its unique services and believes the #HamaYomukadzi would be the hallmark of Padziva.

“On Africa Day we will be having at least 14 dishes and going forward we will maintain these dishes. However, the #HamaYomukadzi will be our trademark dish where customers would be spoiled,” he said.

“Padziva will also celebrate Africa Day by serving African traditional dishes on the day.”

The joint recently added a cocktail of facilities and services including a drive-in and unique signature dishes as well as full car wash valet services.

“We also have this unique set-up where we have a separate sitting place that we call ‘Free Mandela’. It’s becoming popular as clients jostle to have selfies in the area, it is one of our unique services we have at Padziva,” Nyandoro said.

He said patrons can now enjoy the uniqueness and friendly service at Padziva from 10am to the following morning.

“We are now licensed to operate from 10am to the following morning at 4am and patrons can come between those times and get the service they require,” Nyandoro said.
