Orlando Pirates and Warriors speedy winger Kuda Mahachi believes his marriage and wedding to Rose Tatenda a fortnight ago in Bulawayo will bring more blessings in life and to his footballing career.
Mahachi and several Warriors stayed behind for the wedding whilst others went into camp in South Africa for the Cosafa Cup in Durban ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals in Egypt.
“I am very happy about this new journey. It’s a new beginning and a new chapter in life. I now have a family and someone to live for. I look forward to this union bringing the best out of me in life and also in my career,” he said.
Mahahi could not contain his joy and went on to post his wedding pictures on Facebook a day after the event.
“God is #TheHachis (with heart emojis),” he posted.
The Bible says God blesses a union of two and a wedding is from and for God, hopefully Mahachi’s wedding will come with luck as the winger does battle together with other Warriors at this year’s edition of Afcon, where they will play the hosts in the tournament’s opener on June 21.
“Our team has developed and we have a lot of experience. We hope to do well this year and the fact that we are competing there for the third time means we are no push-overs, despite being labelled as the whipping boys of the tournament.

“I hope the wedding will bring good fortune to my performance in Egypt. I am so excited about it and I am taking the joy to Egypt,” said Mahachi.
The night wedding held a fortnight ago in Bulawayo was turned into a celebrity showcase.
The glitzy, star-studded wedding, which took place at the exquisite Nesbitt Castle, was attended by a host of football royalty, making it a night to remember as guests rubbed shoulders with their favourite stars and idols, took pictures and recorded videos with celebrities.
Former Orlando Pirates and now Highlands Park forward Tendai Ndoro was one of the stars at the wedding. Ndoro, who has walked the wedding path before, chauffeured the groom in his South African-registered flashy Jeep Cherokee.
Wearing a fancy suit, Warriors international Marvelous Nakamba was Mahachi’s best man.
Kaizer Chiefs defender Teenage Hadebe showed that he is not just good on the field of play, but also deft on the dance floor. The tall defender brightened the dance floor leading the colourfully dressed bridal team, which also had young Highlanders midfielder Bukhosi Sibanda.
Other footballers who were part of the invited guests were former Highlanders defender Zephaniah Ngodzo, Highlanders assistant coach Mandla Lulu Mpofu and the Bantu Rovers management.
However, the night didn’t end well for Hadebe, whose South African- registered BMW’s windscreen was smashed by an unknown person.
