Local church, the New Revelation International Ministries (NRIM), will this month celebrate its seventh anniversary in style with a series of activities lined up.

NRIM was founded by Apostle Bigboy and Diana Kathumba and it is headquartered in Harare’s Mufakose suburb. The church has spread its wings across the country and in foreign lands with assemblies in Kadoma and Domboshava as well as in Johannesburg.

“We have been holding services at our Johannesburg assembly for the past three years, but the church is headquartered in Mufakose, where we have the main assembly,” Apostle Kathumba told Standard Style last week.

The man of God, who is known for holding weekly women deliverance services at a hill known as Faison in Mufakose alongside his wife, said the church had grown in leaps and bounds since its establishment seven years ago.

“Apart from our Bible teachings and spreading the Word, our church is well-known for community development and trainings, including anti-drug abuse campaigns and clean-up campaigns,” Apostle Kathumba said.

One of the popular empowerment programmes designed for women is the Shiloh Technical College, where the first batch of students did not pay tuition fees for the Cutting and Designing course. The students graduated last year with diplomas.

NRIM has its non-denominational charity arm called Morning Glory Evangelism, which is headed by Apostle Kathumba.

Every year Morning Glory Evangelism is involved in charity work and visits places such as Mutoko’s Mother of Peace and Old People’s Home as well as in Harare at the Society for the Destitute Aged.

Apostle Kathumba was compelled to leave his job to serve the Lord in 2012, having worked as a manager at a number of furniture manufacturing companies.

The man of God is believed to be a rare breed of preachers left in the country who are gifted and passionate in practical deliverance and teaching.

A holder of a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Management, Apostle Kathumba has held sermons across the Christianity divide, preaching on national television and radio as well as conferences regardless of his denomination.

Two batches of pastors graduated in 2016 and 2018 from the church’s school of ministry under his tutelage.

Some other annual events NRIM hosts include the Elijah Night in September and the Touch the Gown (find a partner sessions), which are important events on the church’s calendar.

On Fridays those in the central business district sit under his ministration at Transformation Centre located at 70 Chinhoyi Street.

“We have celebrated other anniversaries before, but this one is the seventh and the number seven is very significant in our beliefs,” he said.
