Alpha Media Holdings (AMH) journalist Mthandazo Nyoni on Friday won five accolades at the inaugural Zimbabwe Agriculture Media Awards.
Nyoni was voted the overall best reporter in the agriculture sector at a colourful ceremony held in Harare. AMH are the publishers of The Standard, NewsDay, Southern Eye and the Zimbabwe Independent.
Most of Nyoni’s winning entries were published in The Standard.
He was rewarded for excelling in the coverage of the poultry, beef and dairy, cotton, tobacco and cereals and wheat sectors.
Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa said journalists played a critical role in the dissemination of information, which was vital for the success of the agriculture sector.
