JESUS was the greatest story teller. Each story He told had deep insights that confused the lawyers and the Pharisees of his time because of its simplicity. These stories had such simplicity that those that would listen to them would fail to fully grasp the overall meaning of his words.

Apostle Paul spoke of the gospel by saying that our minds should not be corrupted from understanding its simplicity (2 Colossians 11:3). The reason why the lawyers in Jesus’ times failed to understand him was because he did not speak what they desired to hear.

The good news Jesus Christ came with to the world is so simple that so many people, even in our time, continue to miss it. Christianity is about God reconciling us back to himself. Because of Adam’s sin, men were separated from God and men’s nature was corrupted with sin.

The nation of Israel expected a man who would come and save them from the Roman Empire and yet the Roman Empire was just a pawn. Jesus had come to restore what men had lost in the beginning rather liberate the Israelites from Roman bondage. Men were blinded to this reality by the problems they were going through at the time.

Your problems are not a definition of the purpose of God in your life. If the devil would have planted a false Messiah that would have saved Israel from the Roman Empire, they would have followed him because what they wanted was for the current oppressive political establishment to end. But they did not understand that the reason for the tyranny was Adam’s sin which had to be first addressed by the death of Jesus.

In as much as Israel missed Jesus, the church today is in the same trap. Christians are consumed by their problems that all what they want is just a quick solution to their problems and not for God to deal with the root cause of the issues afflicting them.

The Bible calls Jesus the second Adam and his purpose is to restore men to his original position but with an upgrade. Man is no longer a living soul like the first Adam, but he has now become a life-giving spirit. When man was created, he was created in the same nature as God and when he sinned he corrupted that nature. The new man not only has the nature of God but he has been upgraded. The moment a Christian realises what Christ came to do is beyond the gratification of their sensual needs, they will begin to desire understanding of their new found nature.

The Bible says if any man is in Christ, old things have passed away and all things have become new. This new nature has made us superhuman. There is no limitation to what the new man in Christ can do. The moment we break from the distractions of the current world and focus on our true nature, we will surprise the world by what we have become.

When Jesus walked this world even his disciples marvelled and asked what manner of man He was. But Jesus when He was here on earth he walked with the nature that had not been upgraded like ours. Because of his death we can do more because of the new upgrade. If before the upgrade they could say what manner of man is this imagines us after the upgrade.

What Jesus came to do is so simple that many still undermine the changes that came with his death and resurrection. Prayer is key not to miss the totality of what God did in our lives and knowledge of the word of God activates the dormant part of our new nature. God bless you!
