LEADER of Johanne Masowe eChishanu Apostolic Sect Andby Makururu will donate New Year’s presents, including paying of schools fees to under privileged children in the country.

The popular prophet, who was on a recent tour of Mozambique and Malawi, said on December 31 he would convene a gathering in Mutare where he will donate goodies to members of his congregants.

Sungura musician Romeo Gasa is set to perform at the fiesta.

“We are going to have a massive church service on December 31. It is going to be an all-night prayer and all prophets from our assemblies around the country would be there, including those from Mozambique and Malawi,” he said “We have gifts that we are going to donate on New Year’s Eve.

“We are also going to pay school fees for under-privileged children in the church.

“The event is going to be graced by Romeo Gasa. He is involved in campaigns against child marriages, which I also support.”

Makaruru through his Ruvheneko Rwenyenyedzi Trust (RRT)promised to transform the indigenous church to suit global trends and values, chief among them safeguarding the girl child.

Gasa on Thursday promised fireworks on the New year’s Eve.

“l am promising fireworks at Madzibaba Andby’s event on the New Year’s Eve. I appeal to people in and around Mutare to come in their numbers,” Gasa said. “l started to know the prophet long-time ago as he has been helping me spiritually.

“The prophet is also helping me write a song on child marriages.

“Through the prophet’s prayers, l have started mobilising resources to assist people living with disabilities as stated in the Bible that ‘blessed is the hand that giveth’.”
