Local model Ruvarashe Undenge (pictured) says her dream is to achieve global reputation and make a name for herself on the ramp.

The 19-year-old Harare model told Standard Style that while she is still a nonentity in the cut-throat modelling scene, she was optimistic that she will one day achieve her dream.

“I want to become the most influential personality and globally recognised. By this, I will be able to use modelling to be the voice of the voiceless,” she said.

“I want to come up with some projects to help the underprivileged so that they have better living standards.”

Ruva, as the model is popularly known, believes there are many things models can do to change society, especially addressing the plight of women.

“I would like to run awareness campaigns that promote gender equality with the hope of increasing the percentage of females working in all sectors of the economy,” she said.

“Women, particularly single mothers should be empowered to cater for their families.

“I will also make sure that I fight teen pregnancies by engaging youths in sexual and reproductive health issues.”

She said her awareness campaigns would embrace climate change issues.

An Economics degree student at the University of Zimbabwe, Ruva was recently crowned first princess at Face of Evitro pageant. She also won the Model of the week in October 2019.

Undenge attended Blackiston Primary School and Howard High School.

“Besides supporting my education, my parents are fully behind my modelling career,” she said.
