MUTARE-based gospel musician Benjamin Chimoyo has described his recent debut video shooting on his collaboration song, titled Tendai Kuna Baba with Kudzi Nyakudya in the Eastern Highlands, as adventurous.

Chimoyo leads gospel outfit Royal Trumpet who recently released two singles where they collaborated with Nyakudya and Bethen Pasinawako-Ngolomi.

The group collaborated with Pasinawako-Ngolomi on the song Ndaperera Pana Jesu.

In an interview with this publication, Chimoyo said they shot the video on a rural set-up and in a garden in the Eastern Highlands.

The talented gospel musician, however, refused to reveal the areas he shot the video.

“This is our first video and we did it at a rural set-up and in a certain garden in Manicaland, we don’t want to pre-empt where we shot the video, it is a surprise video for our music fans , we will only announce the areas where we shot the video late this month when the video comes out,” he said “It was a good experience for us because we thought it was easy to shoot a video, but it takes a lot of things. We are expecting the video to come out late this month.

“Since it was our first video, it was very adventurous as we had to climb the mountains in the scenic Eastern Highlands, it was tough to climb the mountains.

“We also learnt that there is interaction between shooting and music, we only faced a little challenge when it started to rain on the last day of our shooting.”

He said the video of the song they collaborated with with Pasinewako-Ngolomi would be shot in March.

Royal Trumpet was formed in 2016.

Chimoyo said he started the group to create employment and also to preach the Word of God.

The group has released one album, The Royal Message, and several singles.

The album carries five tracks Ngwarira Nyoka, Vhula, Baba Ndauyawo, Nyenyedzi and Zvichabuda Pachena.
