Zimbabwean model Ennetty Delane Chikukwa (pictured) has made it to the finals of the Miss Zimbabwe Cape Town 2020 pageant to be held in South African port city in April.

Chikukwa said she would do all she could to win the crown.

She said she chose modelling for various reasons.

“I chose to be a model because I have always been passionate about all the things that have to do with the media as l used to dance and sing, which I am planning to revive once again,” she said.

“Besides modelling, I am also into acting. When I am on the stage I feel like I belong and that is the real me. I can be who I want to be and it makes me feel at ease.”

She started modelling seriously in 2018, after being motivated and inspired by a sister she looks up to, the then Miss Pan Africa, Pauline Deborah Marere.

Amazingly, she won her very first pageant, but lost the second one and this prompted her to do a course in modelling last year and this year she is doing another short course with another institution.

“I was crowned Mr and Miss Western Province in 2018 which was my first pageant and I won Miss Leiden 2019,” she said.

“I also won Miss Hope Zimbabwe 2019/20 and I was a finalist at the Miss Local Careers 2019 and Miss Hope International 2019/20 and now Miss Zimbabwe Cape Town.”

She wants to make a huge impact in the lives of women.

“I want to impact and improve the lives of women through modelling, being a title holder in the pageant world means you are a role model and an inspiration to many,” she said.

“I grew up in an abusive home and have been through a lot in terms of relationships.

“l want to teach women to empower and equip themselves for themselves and not to depend on a man or seek anyone’s validation for their existence.

“I founded the 20’s League Movement with the aim of bringing women together, help them share business ideas and teach other skills, engage in business partnerships if they share the same ambitions and become prayer partners. l also offer relationship advice and prayer as well and l would like to shout to my friend the vice-president of the league who has been so much supportive towards this.”

Chikukwa is also into business and operates Signature Queen Holdings, a clothing and apparel retailer.

“We have an online store, which is called Signature Queen Store, and we are still developing the site athough we are already trading. There have been challenges but through God we are thriving and surviving.”

She is also a co- founder of the Mr and Miss Diligent Pageant.

The 22-year-old model is based in Cape Town. She says she loves pets, especially dogs.

She described herself as down-to-earth and God-fearing as well as an outgoing person.
