Sungura kingpin Alick Macheso’s friend Wellington Chikoore, popularly known as Chicco (pictured above), last week pledged to install a solar system at Macheso‘s former primary school Enterprise in Shamva.

Chikoore, who is the MD of Rachicco Construction Company, was part of guests who attended the handover ceremony of an early childhood development block at Enterprise Primary School by Macheso.

The school block was also named after the sungura musician.

Macheso confirmed that Chicco had pledged to light up the school with a solar system.

“I have finally handed over this block to the school, but as you know, l have many friends. One of them is Chicco who pledged to light up this school,” said Macheso.

Chicco pledged to install a solar system at the school and pay fees for seven disadvantaged pupils for the whole year.

“I believe in action. We all saw what my friend Baba Shero [Macheso] did,” Chicco said.

“Since l am from the construction side, l am pledging to install a solar system here as soon as possible.

“Also before l leave this place, l want the school’s banking details so that l pay school fees for seven disadvantaged pupils here.”

Meanwhile, the Orchestra Mberikwazvo frontman is paying fees for 109 underprivileged pupils at Enterprise Primary School, which was confirmed by the school head Godfrey Chifanzwa.

“Since last year, Macheso is paying fully and that has helped us a lot in the smooth running of our school business,” he said.
