ODI Cricket series is underway with the 1st ODI set for 12th March (Today) in India Dharamsala Stadium.  And while poor wet conditions have delayed kick-off, India will be looking to quickly forget their disappointing Test Series performance against New Zealand.  The second and third ODI in India will take place on 15th and 18th March 2020 respectively, all at different stadiums. The second ODI will take place at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow and the 3rd at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The big question is what are the important talking points in a tournament that pits India and South Africa against each other? Well, for cricket lovers looking to follow the event live you can visit this website and place a wager on live game.

India’s Test series Slump

New Delhi Capitals lost the way in the just concluded test series to Kiwis of New Zealand. It was a shocker performance for a country that has always had a competitive edge in cricket tournaments. The big question is will the poor run continue when India plays South Africa is the first ODI series?  Well, despite Virat Kohli’s efforts to keep his team in top form, everything turned into frustration.

While most people would argue that India will sometimes lose, becoming world-beaters means continued excellent show on the pitch. To get closer to proven champions like the Australian cricket team, now dubbed the invincible, India must figure out what went wrong. The team is one of the best and despite a tougher test in faced in New Zealand, there is still a possibility of reaching the pinnacle. It is also noteworthy that when playing at home, New Zealand is a proven tiger. Australia can attest to this fact, not to mention their recent feat against Indians.

Now, going into ODI, India must learn important lessons from their Test series slump. Since it all started at the top, failing to record a solid stand despite Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw opening scores. To tear down South Africans in ODI series, the opening pair should work on a solid technique.

A revitalized South Africa is not easy to wish away

South Africa is undoubtedly a cricket powerhouse and way ahead of Zimbabwe whose England-based Zimbabwean bowler is hinting on a comeback. After nearly a year without a convincing performance, South Africans beat the invincible Australians in the test series. The big question everyone is asking right now is will they repeat the same form against a better side that is India?

Well, looking back at recent performances of both sides, a lot is at stake. While South Africa beat Australia at home in recent ODI series, India lost by the same margin away to New Zealand. While India will not have Rohit Sharma in the team due to calf injury, the team has had a good run despite losing to New Zealand. It leaves the team’s skipper Virat Kohli with more responsibility.

However, wishing away South Africa would be a huge mistake. A revitalized team that beat the invincibles at home means India has an even tougher test going into three-part ODI series. We will be keeping tabs on ODI series as it unfolds.
