Movies portray many themes and gambling is one of those which has featured in several top films. If you listed each of them, there would be over 100 different films but which are regarded as being the must see gambling films?

The title of the movie Casino immediately lets you know this film is about gambling. Starring Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, Casino is not only regarded as one of the leading gambling movies but one of the best films ever made, in any genre. The plot is centred around mob-controlled casino gambling in Las Vegas, with De Niro playing the role of a casino owner who has links with the mafia. Pesci is an enforcer but as his behaviour becomes more erratic, he puts everyone in danger. There are so many fantastic scenes in this film, it is difficult to pick just one and Casino is without doubt a must see gambling film.

Moving on and we come to the movie 21, which was directed by Robert Luketic and released in  2008. This gambling based film not only provides plenty of action and suspense but it also very amusing at times. It is not always easy to get such a combination to work but 21 does it fantastically well. The plot is based on a true story surrounding 6 MIT students who were taught how to count cards by their unorthodox maths teacher Micky Rosa. They then head to Las Vegas where they come away with millions from the blackjack tables. However, following their initial success they begin to get greedy and that is when their plans start to unfold. 21 stars Jim Sturgess, Kevin Spacey, Laurence Fishburne and Kate Bosworth.

For those who would like to try their own hand at winning money at casino, you do not have to be in Las Vegas. The Strip can come to you thanks to real money Mobile Casinos. All you need is an internet connection and you can enjoy all of the casino games you have watched in the movies from the comfort of your mobile device.

Next in our review of the must see gambling films we have come to a classic in Ocean’s Eleven. The cast of this movie reads like a who’s who of Hollywood with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Carl Reiner and Casey Affleck. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, Ocean’s Eleven follows a team as they attempt one of the most elaborate casino heists in history. Despite having created what they believe is the perfect plan, there are plenty of bumps in the road as they attempt to pull off the heist.

While all of the films highlighted above were made from the mid-1990’s onwards, one of the must see gambling films comes from the 1960’s. The Cincinnati Kid stars Steve McQueen who plays the role of an up and coming gambler. He takes on the highest roller of the time, played by Edward G. Howard. In terms of pure gambling, The Cincinnati Kid is a superb movie and as it nears its end, we see both players raising the stakes in an attempt to topple their opponent.
