My Dear People So the not-so-energetic Energy Mutodi was kicked away from the feeding trough for talking too much.
Even ED, who loves television cameras, especially when he is announcing wild fuel price increases, did not bother to personally fire the irrepressible Mutodi. Instead, he sent one of the little-known officials in his office, Regis Chikowore, to do his dirty work. For those blessed with very long and good memories — and there aren’t many of you out there — this had the echoes of Gushungo sending little Simon Khaya Moyo to fire Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2017.
After being asked to jettison Ngwena from government, the same visibly frightened SK Moyo was ordered to declare Constantino Chiwenga’s pre-coup statement treasonous.
Theories being bandied about include very real questions on if the recent developments around Mutodi, the enfant terrible of Zanu PF should be taken seriously to the point of informing the future political dynamics of the ruling party.
Mutodi is a very intelligent man who would have easily toed the line by behaving himself and retaining his cushy job and government perks and other freebies.
Therefore, the question arising is: Why did he go out of his way to ruffle the collective feathers of party elders and the owners of the country?
Was he that naive or there is a much bigger story behind what informed his public and nasty fights with senior party and government officials?

Or is he just a straight-talking person, who values freedom of expression and opinion?
The truth of the matter is deputy ministers are not very important people in our political set-up.
Appointments to those positions are made as a way of pacifying restless party stalwarts and for attaining regional and tribal balance, and so to all intents and purposes, Mutodi has not lost much.
If anything, his biggest loss was his very rich collection of glittering pink, yellow, mauve, neon, magenta and crimson ndombolo suits and pointed shoes, which we are told were stolen recently.
We hope they were all recovered as he may now need his shining apparel to rekindle what was already a dead career in music.
Zapu cadres sidelined — AGAIN!
There has been a lot of talk about how the MDC Alliance was a coalition of many parties and that the party of Tsvangirai, MDC-T, needs to go back to hold an extraordinary congress blah blah. A lot appears to have been invested in ensuring that the party collapses or is always ensnared in one type of trap or another.
That is not a very difficult assignment to achieve given the levels of mediocrity and shallowness within the party’s leadership. Like most politicians anyway, some important and strategic offices are populated by political chancers and fortune hunters.
But be that as it may, is Zanu PF not faced with similar challenges as the MDC Alliance?
Someone pointed out that Zanu PF is an alliance between Zanu and PF Zapu, under the Unity Accord of 1987!
Equally, when Gushungo was illegally removed from office by those soldiers, Ngwena had already been fired from office by Gushungo and SK Moyo.
This means Phelekezela Mphoko, Mboko, should have taken the reins of power if those soldiers want to continue with their tired argument that it was not a coup.
Taking the argument further, it is important to point out that even the central committee meeting which recalled Mugabe was illegal as only he had the power to convene such a meeting.
In addition, many people who attended that illegal central committee meeting had been fired from the party. People like Chris Mutsvangwa and Matemadanda and other mobs.
And still on Zapu, the national heroes from that party continue to be treated like second-class citizens by their colleagues in Zanu.
Recently, revered freedom fighter Clark Mpofu was denied national hero status despite having been among the first Zimbabweans to receive military training in China in the early 1960s.
Another Zapu cadre, Brigadier General Crispan Masuku, who died recently, was declared a national hero posthumously, after he had been buried.
It was only when a third Zapu cadre, Absolom Sikhosana died that as a consolation, he was given national hero status and buried at the National Heroes Acre.
Somebody should remind Kembo that he needs to protect his comrades and defend their interests as they may begin to think they have no commander.
What about Chihuri?
Many people seem to have got their knickers in a knot over allegations that former police commissioner-general Augustine Chihuri stole money and properties and committed several other types of crimes under the sun.
The first point to make is that theft is a perfectly normal, acceptable and rewarding activity to engage in for senior government employees in Zimbabwe.
How clean are the other comrades who are in government?
Is he not being persecuted for defending Robert Mugabe to the last minute?
