Musician Nyasha David Dengwani, popularly known as Nyasha David (pictured below), has promised more soothing love songs following the success of his latest release titled Mariana/Mary Anne that has been topping charts on local air waves.

Affectionately known as the Advocate of Love in music circles, Nyasha, who broke into the limelight through the Dream Star talent search show a few years ago, is famed for churning out powerful songs that explore love and relationships.

Speaking to Standard Style on Friday, the Gweru-bred artiste described the success of the latest as a ray of hope that inspires them to put in more work in the middle of the gloom brought by unprecedented effects of Covid-19 this year.

“It’s a team effort so we are very happy with what Mariana is doing and we are very grateful. I had high hopes for the song when I made it so when the response is good and amazing like this it means we are doing something right and it is a process of growth,” he said.

“As far as our expectations are concerned, we are aiming very high. So it is an ongoing process of growth, so this is the level that and we wish to go higher.”

However, it has not been easy to progress with the national lockdown restrictions still in place since March, thus he and his team at JCMC Studios have had to use digital means of production.

“We have had to shut down our studio so most plans this year have been moved, but we have had to compensate for that which inspired us to move into digital space and we have created a platform for us to thrive through that space,” he said.

Dengwani is set to release two music videos before December as a precursor to his debut album titled Songs of David that is scheduled to hit the market in July next year.
