Musician Felistus “Feli Nandi” Chipendo says she has big plans for the year and promised to unleash her debut album.

Nandi was unceremoniously expelled from her backing vocalist role at the Mhodzi Tribe band — headed by Afro-jazz musician Mbeu — in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis.

She however, picked herself up and activated her career, taking a solo path that has seen her releasing a number of music projects.

Nandi has dropped singles Women, Ndega Ndada, Ndibateiwo and Mangoromera, including a cover video of Steve Makoni’s hit song Zvachonyana.

She did a collaboration with urban groover Trevor Dongo, whose video is trending on online platforms.

Last month she dropped another single titled Munhu Wangu.

Speaking to Standard Style, the 28-year-old diva described 2020 as one of the vilest years in her career although she noted some positives.

“2020 has been a hard year, but I discovered myself through all those trials and tribulations,” she said.

“I am super grateful to my clients and everyone who listens to what I sing. They make this possible.”

Nandi promised bigger things in the new year, including unleashing her debut album.

“This year I’m hoping to drop an album. I will keep on releasing more music and videos while working on a number of local and international collaborations,” she said.

On the fashion designing side, Nandi said she was working hard to spread her business, Feli Nandi Apparels, across the country.

“I recently opened a small showroom at Old Shell House along Nelson Mandela Avenue in Harare where people come and place their orders. They also get to see new designs,” she said.
