Afro-soul musician Felistus “Feli Nandi” Chipendo says collaborations have presented opportunities for her to be insightful and learn a number of aspects in music.

The singer, who was off-loaded at Ashton “Mbeu” Nyahora’s Mhodzi Tribe, has embarked on a number of collaborative projects which she says are paying dividends.

She said working with like-minded creatives with different skills or experience has turned out to be valuable on her part. The music diva-cum-fashion designer is in the studio putting final touches on yet another collaborative production set for release this week.

“I am working with Progress Chipfumo on a single titled Toita Sei. It’s supposed to be released this week,” she said.

Feli Nandi saw the power of collaborations after the song she did with Trevor Dongo titled Mufudzi WeMombe garnered 100 000 views on YouTube within a few days of its release.

“Collaborations have helped me in so many ways. “They have honed my musical knowledge, expanded my fan base and boosted my exposure,” she said.

“I never imagined the outcome of the song Mufudzi Wemombe. It became a hit getting a lot of airplay on radio stations and its followership on YouTube was amazing. That’s really the power of collaborations. ”

Feli Nandi said the music industry was awash with diverse trades and working with different producers, singers, songwriters and engineers, among others, had improved her understanding of music.

The single Toita Sei was produced by prominent producer Lazzie T and is accompanied by a video.

Nandi has dropped singles Women, Ndega Ndada, Ndibateiwo, Kukurumidza, Tora Mari, Teerera Moyo, Mufudzi Wemombe, Mangoromera, including a cover video of Steve Makoni’s hit song Zvachonyana.

On the fashion designing side, she was working hard to spread her business, Feli Nandi Apparels, across the country.

“I recently opened a small showroom at Old Shell House along Nelson Mandela Avenue in Harare where people come and place their orders. They also get to see new designs,” she said.
