IZinjaTropaz project aimed at bringing Bulawayo artistes together to increase their fan base and promote each other’s works has kicked off with two music videos — Asinavalo and Betha.

The project — iZinjaTropaz — is generated from the kasi dabbed iZinja zeGame and it’s aimed at showcasing Bulawayo talent across all genres featuring artistes from maskandi, kwaito, hip-hop, amapiano and soul, among others.

“We had promised to give people of Zimbabwe quality visuals and indeed we have started to showcase our seriousness in the arts industry by releasing their debut music video Asinavalo. It was released in March and we are busy marketing it,” Brykel Ndlovu of iZinjaTropaz told Standard Style.

He said the song talks about how they are prepared to take over the music scene in the city.

“This is a move to encourage each and every artiste to be serious and persistent about their craft……If you give quality work, people will acknowledge your efforts….To all the upcoming artistes,  let’s give people what they want to see or hear, what they want is quality art,” Ndlovu said.

He said working together is key in the arts industry as to share ideas and produce unique and quality productions.

“Asinavalo music video was a combined effort of working together. Special thanks to Pontiff Mathebula, Allied Media, Ndebele Crush, Amany Muzik and Candy Ice Studio for making it happen to have these beautiful visuals. On March 16, we released another music video — Betha — and the song is a fusion of house music and maskandi. A few have done that in the city, so  indeed this is a game changer,” Ndlovu said.

“The video was shot in a rural set-up and the outfit’s fusion is cultural wear we have in Matabeleland (Sotho, isiNdebele and Xhosa). We have been getting positive responses from other artistes and they also wish to be part of our other coming projects. Soon we will be shooting our third music video and hopefully we will be able to feature many artistes on this coming video.”
