BULAWAYO- BASED rising gospel artiste Sakhile Nomagugu Philae Sibanda has received a sponsorship package from Anchored Gospel Community Doncaster (GCDONCASTER) and described the move as a career breakthrough.

AGCDONCASTER is a social media platform where gospel artistes, preachers, entrepreneurs and authors empower those who aspire to follow their paths.

In an interview with NewsDay Life & Style, Sibanda said AGCDONCASTER has helped her to build a brand where it is hard to get appreciated as an up-and-coming singer.

“The AGCDONCASTER has given me a big opportunity because now I am an international artiste, who is not only limited to Zimbabwe. This is a breakthrough as it is hard to break the ice especially when you are new in the industry and doing gospel music as many people resist gospel music,” she said.

“I was picked when I was ministering at the Eagle Life Assembly church worship night session. ADCDONCATER is now promoting our songs.”

Sibanda said she will be dropping her latest album on June 4 were founder of AGCDONCASTER Pelagia Kwashira (Minister Pel) will be the host.

“I will be launching my album on June 4, alongside other five members who were also chosen by the AGCDONCASTER in the worldwide Christmas gospel music competition held last year in December,” she said.

“I believe the album will speak to many souls all around the world. I am bringing a different feel to gospel music that covers hip hop, contemporary and house.”

Minister Pel said Sibanda was chosen because of her talent adding that they have already fully paid for her launch.

“I believe that the launch will open doors to the artistes. We are currently working on the project of supporting some of the artistes who have recorded their songs and they were chosen in the competition despite their country,” she said.

“The launch will be exceptional and I believe it will open doors and expose our artistes to other connections in the business and music industry.”

Sibanda launched her music career in 2010 as a backing vocalist for different artistes such as Tafadzwa Jeduthan Lunga and Marshal Malaba.

Her discography is made up of I Need You, Crossing Over, Unstoppable and Date My King.
